TO TURN THE RADIO ON AND OFF:
For most radios, turn the volume control knob clockwise or pull out for power on and turn counterclockwise or push in for power off. Some radios will have an on/off toggle switch on the power cord. Note: volume control is done via the Bluetooth device (phone, laptop, etc.) and not the radio’s volume control knob.
CONNECTING THE RADIO TO A SMARTPHONE/LAPTOP/TABLET (ONE TIME ONLY):
The radio will display as “BT Speaker” or “XSpecial Audio” under the list of the available Bluetooth devices (for this guide it will be referred to as BT Speaker). If BT Speaker is not visible, please make sure Bluetooth service is enabled (found in the Settings section.)
To pair, select BT Speaker from the list of available devices (no password). The radio may emit a single beep to indicate it is successfully connected. The next time the radio is powered on, it will automatically connect. There is a 30 foot streaming distance; the connection will drop after 30 feet.
PLAYING AUDIO THROUGH THE RADIO:Almost every radio station now broadcasts over the internet. These broadcasts can be easily accessed using apps such as TuneIn or IHeartRadio. Other audio apps include Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Prime, and Google Play. Podcasts, music playlists, and audiobooks can also be streamed directly to the radio for a truly unique audio experience! This radio even works with Amazon Alexa! For more details, search Google for “connect Bluetooth to Amazon Echo”.
IF THE SMARTPHONE/LAPTOP/TABLET CANNOT PAIR TO THE RADIO:
If BT Speaker is listed as ‘Not Connected’ and/or cannot connect to the radio, select BT Speaker and select ‘Forget This Device’. Disable and re-enable Bluetooth service on the smartphone. This will move BT Speaker to the listing of available Bluetooth devices where it can then be selected and re-connected. Only one device can be connected to a Bluetooth device. If the connection still is unsuccessful, check other devices within the area. There may be another device already connected.
HELPFUL HINT: To maintain the shine of the radio place some drops of baby oil on a microfiber cloth and work gently into the radio case.
